Selecting from a template
Using a template can be a low-stress way of setting things up. If you see something you like, press “Play Now!” and set up your game! Pick how many rounds you want, how long the game lasts, and how players can join. By clicking “Customize,” you can add or edit any question to suit your lesson better.
Creating a custom game
Clicking “Create Custom Game” in the bottom right corner of the menu gives you all the tools you need to make your own game. Create your own questions from scratch, choose the duration, and add as many rounds as you want. Multiple game modes, like WordCloud and With-Draw, can be included in the same game. Get creative!
How do I host a game on CrowdParty?
CrowdParty was built to make hosting as low-stress as possible. No downloads or student accounts are needed. Teachers can host on the big screen, and students can join on whatever device they have.
Once teachers add the finishing touches, a link can be shared, or students can join by entering a code or scanning a QR code!
See a name that’s not appropriate or that you don’t recognize? Press the three dots in the bottom left corner to access the Host Control Panel. In this panel, you can see all the rounds and kick players from the room to create a safe space for everyone!
Once every student is in, press start and let the fun begin!
Running your CrowdParty game
As the host, you can control the pace of the game even while it’s active. Here’s a short run-through of all the options:
Autoplay: For hands-free operation. Round start and end automatically.
Pause: Stops the countdown until you resume. Players cannot answer questions while the game is paused.
End Round/Next Round: Ends the round before the timer ends. Once the round is over, press “Next Round” to continue the game.
Host Control Panel & Host Remote: See all the questions, kick players, and make changes. Host Remote gives you access to the control panel on a mobile device. No need to stay glued to the laptop to keep things running!
The leaderboard can be viewed by the host and players between rounds, and final results are shown once the last round has ended. A standard game runs for around 10 minutes, making it perfect for an end-of-day review or a quick knowledge check between periods!
Teachers looking to gain insight into how students performed individually can download the game results after the last round. See how each student answered to discover how well your class understands the lesson and plan accordingly.
