How to Set Up a Scavenger Hunt with CrowdParty
Setting up a scavenger hunt with CrowdParty is a piece of cake. No downloads or difficult setup required.
Step #1: Start Your Hunt
Head to crowdparty.app and click Scavenger Hunt.
Here, you'll find all the details about how hunts work for both hosts and players right on the page! When you're ready, click Start a Hunt.
Name your hunt based on your topic. Once you have named your hunt, you can press Play.
Step #2: Customize Your Challenges
Before the game starts, you’ll see a 3×3 grid of tiles. Each tile represents a challenge that players will need to complete.
You can let players take a photo for the prompt or let them scan a QR code. Add a mix of both to keep players on their toes.
CrowdParty gives you default challenges to start with, but you can get creative. Customize the board with occasion-specific prompts.
Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Snap a selfie of your best funny face: Laughs and conversation happen as soon as photos start coming in.
- Find something covered in fur: Will people send in fur coats? Teddy bears? Pictures of their dog? This one lets your team get creative.
- Find the hidden item: Hide a small toy on someone's desk, or tuck a brightly colored piece of paper away in the break room.
- Find something square (real or made by you): Get pictures of boxes, or maybe even get a few drawings.
- Send a photo of a prized possession: A real conversation starter as players send photos of something that’s important to them.
- Take a photo of yourself in costume: Perfect for a Halloween party or a costume day.
Step #3: Host Your Game
When your challenges are set, press Done.
CrowdParty will ask if you want to host now or save the room for later. When you're ready to go live, hit Host Game.
A QR code and PIN will appear on the screen. Players can either scan the QR code with their phone camera or go to crowdparty.app, tap Join Game, and enter the PIN.
Step #4: Watch the Action Unfold
As players begin to fill their tiles, you’ll see their names appear on the board.
The leaderboard begins to update live based on how quickly players fill their tiles. It adds just the right amount of competition while keeping things fun.
Step #5: Review, Moderate, and Celebrate!
Once the hunt finishes, hosts can review each player's submissions and scroll through everyone's interpretations of the prompts.
See a photo that doesn't match the prompt, or something not safe for work? Hosts can manually approve or reject photos. This keeps everything appropriate and fair.
For hosts with Corp Pass, AI moderation tools can be used for a hassle-free experience. These tools flag images that are inappropriate or don't match the prompt, making the management of larger hunts easier.

In-office

Remote and hybrid settings
All of CrowdParty's challenges are photo-based, so hunts still work great for remote teams. Send remote players to search their home or their neighborhood, or to hunt during their weekly grocery run.
